Your host, fellow angler and owner of Chinook Fishing Adventures, Bruce Gillespie was born right here on Vancouver Island, British Columbia! There is nothing he enjoys more than showing anglers - corporate groups, family groups and buddies getting together for a fishing trip - the time of their lives, fishing the waters surrounding Vancouver Island !

Bruce was brought up with the beautiful coastline of Vancouver Island as his backyard playground. His huge love of being on the water as a young lad soon became a lifelong passion. Bruce’s fishing knowledge and boating skills are the result of many years spent both on fresh water and on the Pacific Ocean in a variety of fishing locations practicing many different fishing styles.

As a local angler with years of experience Bruce has accumulated the area knowledge required to host fishing adventures in his two favorite locations, both located in the coastal waters of Vancouver Island just off the beautiful and pristine coast of British Columbia, Canada.

The area Bruce calls "paradise" is Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet on the wild and wonderful west coast of Vancouver island (home of 5 species of salmon, monster Halibut & Red Snapper). Campbell River; more populated and on the “tamer” east side of the Island, is known world-wide as The Salmon Fishing Capital of the World.

The Chinook Seeker ~

During Bruce's many years of saltwater fishing, in boats of every description and size, he observed other anglers while they were on guided fishing trips. His observations made him realize that a lot of the people he saw in open boats were often very uncomfortable and not particularly happy. Their choices were usually restricted to either being cold or wrapped up like mummies in survival suits. There was no place for anglers or their families to get out of the weather if it was cool or raining.

Even well known BC fishing lodges often fell short of the mark because the boats they provided for their clients were far from comfortable and fully equipped. Many of Bruce’s own fishing experiences were disappointing because the small, open boats provided by most fishing guides and lodges offered little in the way of comfort and protection.

These fishing experiences have led to him host world class fishing trips aboard the luxurious 26 ft. Commander, called the Chinook Seeker. Bruce’s boat is fully equipped for your safety and comfort, making fishing easier and more enjoyable for anglers and their families. Will this comfort and luxury help you catch the "big one"?
