Vancouver Island Fishing, British Columbia, Canada

Getting Here ~

We fish on both the East and West coasts of Vancouver Island! The Campbell River / Comox area on the protected east coast presents opportunities for 5 species of salmon. The West coast of Vancouver Island near Tahsis is more rugged, with more open water to fish and both salmon and bottom fish to catch! Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet are the places where the big salmon run and you can catch halibut up to 200 lbs!

Both Esperanza Inlet and Nootka Sound are pretty much due West of Campbell River - Click on our map for a close up view of the map and you will see the driving and ferry routes. Most people fly to Comox from Vancouver on Pacific Coastal airlines or from Alberta with Westjet, then rent a car and meet us. Flights are available directly to Campbell River from Vancouver and Seattle.

For our West Coast fishing trips, Tahsis is the pick-up location, 3 hours drive from Campbell River, or 3.5 hours from Courtenay.

For Campbell River fishing trips, we will meet you at your accommodation. Please contact us - we're happy to help you find accommodations that will suit your needs and your budget!

Driving Directions to Tahsis:
Vancouver Island is reached by Ferry from Vancouver, Port Angeles, Seattle, Tsawwassen, Powell River and Prince Rupert. You'll find ferry route and schedule information at www.bcferries.bc.ca

Follow the Island Highway (Hwy. 19) to Campbell River (2 hours from Nanaimo, 3.5 hours from Victoria), then on to Tahsis - about 3 hours drive. Click here for a map of the Tree to Sea Drive from Gold River to Tahsis.

Once in Campbell River, go West and take Hwy. 28 to Gold River. In Gold River, watch for signs directing you to Tahsis. A left turn will take you into Gold River for a rest stop and gas. About 3 kilometers past the Gold River Travel Info Centre, is the start of the "Tree to Sea Drive". The road is 63.5 km (approximately 40 miles) and driving time to he Village of Tahsis is approximately 1 1/4 hours. The drive to Tahsis is quite beautiful with waterfalls, lakes, panoramic vistas, and frequent wildlife sightings.

On your way home:
Your time on the water fishing can be exhausting (but in a good way!), so we recommend an overnight in either Campbell River or Courtenay to get some extra rest before you drive home.

Please feel free to contact us regarding transportation to our fishing area. We will be happy to help you make suitable transportation and accommodation arrangements for you and your fishing charter group.
